"You" quickly became one of the most popular series, but what is the root of its success?

This series is made up of 3 seasons based on the successful novel published in 2014 by Caroline Kepnes 'What would you do for love?'. The frenetic pace and the good realization with well cared shots make it a nice series to watch, while maintaining the tension all the time with its unexpected plot twists and its high dose of ambiguity.

It's indisputable that the series is technically well executed. However, at first, the plot doesn't catch the attention. Starring Penn Badgley, Joe Goldberg is a kindly New York bookseller who always has a smile for his customers, but in his free time he is a stalker of women he thinks might be a good match for him. Although there are two things that get the viewer interested in the series.

On the one hand, it plays a lot with psychology.... The main character narrates the story and sometimes makes you believe that there's nothing wrong with his actions, he always justifies them and considers them an act of love.

On the other hand, it exposes a problem very close to the audience, such as the excess of information we share on social networks and the ease of everyone to access it.

After three seasons the discuss continues as to whether Joe is a romantic who acts only for love or if he is simply a crazy and despicable character. I go with the latter, although especially in the first season the great Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey on Gossip Girl) makes you doubt your own opinion.

The series has a great cast and each season is more interesting than the last. It's addictive, I recommend it.
